Balochistan Government Plans to Hire 4,000 New School Teachers

Balochistan Plans Major Teacher Recruitment to Strengthen Public Education

Government schools in Balochistan are currently dealing with a serious shortage of subject specialists, with estimates showing a 70 to 80 percent gap in teachers for core subjects such as English, Mathematics, and Science. Officials say this shortfall has significantly affected classroom learning across the province.

To address the issue, the provincial administration has prepared a proposal seeking approval to recruit 4,000 teachers. These appointments will be made at Grade 17 on an ad hoc basis under the Academic Excellence Programme. According to education authorities, the initiative is expected to enhance teaching capacity and help improve academic performance in public-sector schools.

Education Secretary Asfandyar Khan Kakar also highlighted recent efforts to revive thousands of previously non-operational schools. Many of these institutions had remained closed due to teacher absenteeism or a lack of staff. He described the new recruitment drive as an important step toward restoring stability and strengthening the overall education system in Balochistan.

The government hopes that these measures will not only improve access to education but also ensure better learning outcomes for students across the province.
